Abstract

Observation of rectangular cavity modes corresponding to RF field variations along the length and width of the junction is reported. Voltages associated with these modes are in agreement with the theory of Nerenberg et al. (1976). Rectangular modes are distinguished from the well known one-dimensional modes by their dependence on magnetic field orientation. Rectangular modes were also sporadically observed as zero-field resonances.
