Dan Tamir has been active in the area of formalization of axiomatic fuzzy logic and in applications of fuzzy logic in pattern recognition. One of the recent research threads pursued by Kandel, Last, and Tamir is complex fuzzy logic. This chapter provides a brief review of the contribution of the authors to the field of fuzzy logic as well as a survey on current state of the theory of complex fuzzy sets, complex fuzzy classes, and complex fuzzy logic.",
