Abstract

The frequency assignment problem for a fixed set of spatially distributed TV transmitters is considered. The criterion of minimal decrease of the average service area is used to compare some planning algorithms. The appropriate choice of assignment algorithm is significantly important in the case of an increasing deficit in the number of available channels.
