Abstract

In this work the complex and the real stability robustness measures for unstructured perturbations in matrices are studied. The main result of this paper is an explicit and computationally easy expression for the real stability robustness measure. Some of the computational aspects of the known expression for the general pole confinement robustness measure, and in particular the comptex stability robustness measure, are explored. The relations among the two stabitity robustness measures and their common upper bound are discussed. Some design implications are indicated, as well.
