Abstract
It is shown that under certain conditions the H∞-optimal performance for a sampled-data control system is achieved and equals the norm of an operator which involves only the continuous-time plant, the sampler, and the zero-order hold. The present work is a development of the operator-theoretic approach initiated by T. Chen and B. A. Francis (1990).
