Abstract
The Lambert-Jonas approximation for ballistic impact was compared with the formula by Recht and Ipson based on the energy conservation law. The Lambert-Jonas correlation between the impact, the residual and the ballistic limit velocities was examined for the purpose. The accuracy of both models were found to be approximately the same.
