Abstract

Relations between brothers and sisters are profoundly affected by polygamy. Polygamy is a practice in which a person is married to more than one spouse simultaneously. There are several variations of this definition: Polygyny, wherein one husband is married to several wives; Polyandry, wherein one wife is married to several husbands; and, finally, a type of group marriage, wherein several husbands are married to several wives.
