Abstract
A new mathematical model is developed and examined for determining optimal location of an electrical substation and feeders configuration in a given region. The solution method, is based on analyzing a non-linear optimization problem that includes the costs of power losses and construction of the distribution and delivery lines. The advantages of the developed model are mainly expressed in a continuous large geographical terrain. The simplicity of the model allows to add extra components such as land development costs, roads and others.
