Abstract

We inversely-design, fabricate, and characterize Aluminium photonic crystal perfect absorbers around 1.06um. The designs are optimized for narrow-/wide-linewidth TE/TM/unpolarized operation. A large-area fabricated design facilitated comprehensive optical and thermal investigation with realistic near-to-normal Gaussian-beam incidence.
