Order (memμ)α2lnα-1 corrections to the muonium hyperfine structure

Abstract

We report a calculation of the (memμ)α2lnα-1 corrections to the hyperfine splitting (νm) of the muonium ground state. The result, Δνm=24(memμ)2[1+(memμ)]-5cα4Rlnα-1=0.0252 MHz (5.6 ppm), shifts the theoretical value for νm to within one standard deviation of the most recent experimental determination of the muonium hyperfine interval by the Chicago-Illinois group.
