Abstract

This letter proposes to view organizational decision making as a pure public good. The problem of voluntary participation in the provision of the public good - the quality of the organization's decisions - is analyzed using a stylized game of participation. We are chiefly concerned with the clarification of the relationship between the severity of the free-riding problem and the quality of the decisional resources available to the organization.
