Abstract

The parameters of a new device for destoning the inner surfaces of pipes by the rotation of a sphere in the fluid flowing through the pipe under the influence of hydrodynamic forces were studied for the parameter design of the system. The stability of the cleaning process was analyzed and the working range and efficiency of the device were determined. A nomogram was constructed for the practical calculation of the parameters of the device in a wide range of values. The cleaning method was applied for demonstration purposes to remove sediment and rust from the inner surfaces of the pipes.
