Abstract

Theoretical analysis of interferometric crosstalk in optical switches is presented for partially- and fully-coherent channels. Resulting penalties are experimentally measured for both heterodyne and homodyne cases. Required channel isolation ranges between 7-24 dB for 2 dB of power penalty.
