Abstract

The generalized path-integral approach is applied to some problems of high-frequency wave propagation in the ionosphere as in a random medium with regular refraction. The technique allows coherent backscattering effects and evaluates the wave correction terms for all statistical moments of the field. The corrections obtained establish the sufficient condition of applicability of the standard parabolic equation in various situations.
