Abstract

Health care utilization is dependent on many factors, but it is an important tool in describing the health of any given population. In order to study pediatric (children and youth) health utilization in Israel, we looked at available data on emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and the use of community health services. It was found that children account for 25% of all emergency department visits, 14% of all hospitalizations, and 45% of all visits to primary physicians and specialists.
