Abstract
In this paper we consider a concentrator for 'packetized' voice with a variable number of voice sources. The concentrator is modeled as an open PH/D/c queue and is analyzed by using the method of phases. We derive efficient algorithmic solutions for the probability generating function, the expected queue length and the expected waiting time. We also find the throughput and the probability of blocking an incoming call.
