Abstract
The effects of a uniform magnetic field on some random site spin glasses are shownto be the same as those of a uniaxial random field on a uniform magnet. This leads to tricritical and tetracritical points and yields a heuristic explanation for the effective lowering of dimensionality by 2 in such Heisenberg systems.
