Abstract
Changes in crystal structure induced by application of pressure up to 9. 2 GPa were studied in a wide concentration range (2 to 40 pct V). The treatment causes formation of the omega phase and changes its morphology after quenching. The amount of omega phase remaining after releasing the pressure is larger than that obtained upon quenching. When the vanadium content was more than 30 at pct, omega -like correlated displacements were observed.
