Abstract
The vibrationally mediated photodissociation (VMP) research was extended to the difluorochloromethane, CHF2Cl (HCFC22). Focus was on the comparison between the room temperature photoacoustic (PA) spectra and the jet-cooled action spectra of the N=3, N=7/2, and N=4 C-H stretchbend polyad components with the intention to look for local resonances. PA spectra were monitored by direct infrared (IR) excitation, while of the action spectra by subsequent interaction of ∼235/243 nm photons with vibrationally excited species. Furthermore, the branching ratios between the released H, Cl and Cl* photofragments were determined. Based on the action spectra and the branching ratios, information was obtained regarding the intramolecular dynamics during the photodissociation process.
