Abstract

The existence of a continuum of electronic states in the charge manifold of ordered polymer films was measured using the technique of photoinduced absorption (PA) in highly ordered π-conjugated polymers (PCP). A series of quantum interference antiresonances (AR) between the discrete IRAV and the polaron band were measured. Overall, evidence was obtained for the existence of a continuum band above the polaron state in the charge manifold of ordered PCP, justifying the semiconductor quantitative treatments done so far in dealing with OLED and organic FET. Furthermore, a high frequency phonon with relatively strong e-p coupling was found.
