Abstract
Nd-doped glassy As2Se3 and As2S3 films are prepared using vacuum co-evaporation of crushed glassy chalcogenide material and Nd2S3 powder. The films display strong Nd photoluminescence with maxima at ∼1080 nm and ∼900 nm and photostructural transformations (photodarkening and photoresist effect). Fabrication of luminescent diffraction gratings using Nd-doped films is also demonstrated.
