Abstract

Differential cross sections are presented for pion elastic and inelastic scattering from 48,50Ti, 52Cr, and 54,56Fe at Tπ=180 MeV to the 0+, 5-, and higher lying 2+, 3-, and 4+ states. Inelastic-scattering data were analyzed using distorted-wave impulse-approximation calculations with collective-model transition densities. Matrix elements for most of the transitions have been extracted.
