Abstract

We have observed the broad 2+ member of the K=04+ band of Ne20 with the ²⁰Ne(π^-π^-,) reaction at T_π=120 and 180 MeV and with ²⁰Ne(π^-π^-,) at T=180 MeV. We find an excitation energy of 9.00±0.18 MeV and a width of 0.8 MeV. The B(E2↑) is determined to be approximately 25 to 35 e²fm⁴.
