Abstract

A method for low-complexity, continuous estimation of the Doppler shift of a wideband underwater acoustic communication system is presented. The method utilizes a PLL to estimate the frequency shift resulting both from the Doppler effect and the mismatch of transmitter-reconstruction and receiver-sampling rates. The performance of the method is evaluated both in simulation and in sea trial.
