Abstract

This article deals with the reproduction of a classless organization within a society which is dominated by a capitalist mode of production. It deals with the conditions which enable the coexistence of two or more modes of production. The problem of coexistence of two or more modes of production within the same society is known in the literature as ‘the problem of articulation of modes of production’. This paper is particularly concerned with the conditions and the mechanisms which maintained articulation in the Jewish community in Palestine before and after the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948, and the articulation between the Kibbutz which can be considered a mode -and the capitalist modes of production which dominated the economy of both the pre-and post-state formations.
