Abstract
The title compound, (C8H16N)2[PbI 4], crystallizes as an inorganic-organic hybrid perovskite, adopting the unusual 2ap × 2ap superstructure. As such, the structure consists of two-dimensional sheets of corner-sharing PbI6 octahedra in the ab plane, separated by bilayers of 2-(1-cyclohexenyl) ethylammonium cations. The ethylammonium groups are not in the plane of the cyclohexenyl rings.
