Abstract
A shrouded wind turbine was built, to be tested in the 3. 6 multiplied by 2. 6 test sections of the subsonic wind tunnel of the Israel Aircraft Industry. The shroud housed a 40 cm turbine composed of a seven-blade stator preceded by a two-, three-, four-, six-, or eight-blade rotor. Without using a ring-shaped flap, an augmentation factor of about two was obtained. The turbine was designed for 5 m/s wind. With such a wind, its expected output was about 1 hp. The results obtained during the first three months of operation are given in the following section.
