Abstract

High-density Y-Ba-Cu-O superconducting samples were prepared by melting of sintered YBa2Cu3O7 superconducting pellets in a vacuum arc furnace and heat treatment. The density of the obtained samples was about 96% of the theoretical value for YBa2Cu3O7, and its was 88K. The normalized atomic chemical composition analyzed by an EDAX was: Y-17%, Ba-33.5% and Cu-49.5%. The crystallographic distorted perovskite structure was defined by X-ray diffractometer measurements.
