Abstract
Infantile cortical hyperostosis (Caffey's disease) is a rather well documented entity. However, primary scapular involvement manifested clinically by significant swelling of the overlying soft tissues as the sole presenting symptom is virtually unknown. In adding another case to the five already reported in the literature, attention is drawn to this rare presentation. The major features of Caffey's disease are discussed with particular reference to primary scapular involvement. The diagnostic pitfalls are stressed and the clinical and radiological findings outlined.
