Abstract

The hydrothermal synthesis of hydroxyapatite (HAp) from Australian corals was investigated. The characterization of the corals and the converted HAp was reported. X-ray diffraction was used to analyze the phase composition of the coral and converted samples. Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR) and nuclear magnetic resonance spectra (NMR) of the converted HAp were studied.
