Abstract

he propagation of oblique waves in a magnetoactive relativistic electron-positron plasma is studied. It is determined that there exists a purely transverse electromagnetic wave with
linear polarization and a vacuum nature of the dispersion. The linear polarization of the radio pulses of the pulsar NP 0532 is examined using these results in the framework of the maser mechanism of the radio emission of pulsars. For this pulsar, the main pulse is found to
be unpolarized, whereas the prepulse is almost completely linearly polarized.
