Abstract

Based on 17 bands of HST data of The Cluster Lensing And Supernova survey with Hubble (CLASH) and two bands of Spitzer data in cluster MACS 1149+2223, we found a galaxy at z=9.6 that is significantly magnified by gravitational lensing. Model fitting enables us to derive the galaxy's mass, size and age. We estimate that its age is less than 200 Myr (at the 95% confidence level), implying a formation redshift of z < 14. We compare its properties with its counterparts at 7-8 and the prospect for followup observations.
