Abstract

Compared pupil control ideology (PCI) of 53 kibbutz teachers to the ideology of 53 urban Jewish, 50 urban Arab, and 50 Bedouin-Arab teachers in public elementary schools in Israel, using the PCI questionnaire by D. J. Willower et al (1973). For all comparisons, there was a significant difference between male and female teachers, and age was significantly positively related to PCI scores. Kibbutz teachers had the most humanistic PCI orientation, followed by urban Arab, urban Jewish, and Bedouin-Arab teachers. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
