Abstract
Principal requirements with respect to the operation and parameters of current limiting devices with closed superconductor screens are considered. An analysis of the thermal state of the switching element of the device is carried out and principles of the method of calculation of its parameters are outlined. As an example of application of the proposed calculation method, the relations between the parameters of the device for a 110 kv line are obtained.
