Abstract

1. 1. A bilateral and longitudinal comparative study of rat submandibular gland secretion was performed. 2. 2. Flow rate, the concentrations of total protein. Na+ and K+, and amounts of lactoperoxidase and alkaline protease activities were determined and gel electrophoresis of secreted proteins was performed. 3. 3. In general there was an excellent correspondence between right and left side secretions, and repeated secretions collected at three, one-week intervals.
