Abstract

The reaction of bis(trimethylsilyl) hypophosphlte with α-ethoxyacrolein leads to the formation of an unstable adduct, the decomposition products of which are ethyl trimethylsilyl phosphite, hexamethyldisiloxane, and a noncombustible polymer.
