The scope of tissue engineering in constructing a living human heart patch is discussed. The heart attack is a well known disease that happens due to blockage of a major blood vessel to heart, killing the heart muscle cells. The cell implantation method to diagnose the disease cannot thrive because the area lacks vital natural infrastructure, so a natural polymer derived from algae called alginate was used to build scaffold. The regeneration of human heart damaged by myocardial infarction using alginate scaffolds in patients seems to have better and encouraging prospects in the medical diagnostics.
