Abstract

Boron-containing organometallic compounds had been always fascinated organic chemists because it has been widely used in carbon-carbon bond formation reactions such as the synthesis of biaryls in Suzuki-coupling, arylation reaction of olefins, and coupling reactions. In the present research, arylative cyclization/and annulation reactions of alkynes, enynes, ynones, enallenes, allenyl aldehydes, etc., are growing interest for the synthesis of biologically privileged scaffolds using boronic acids as common substrates under different transition metals. In this regard, we have reviewed the recent update on arylative cyclization reactions for the formation of densely functionalized heterocycles and bioactive scaffolds.
