REFLECTIONS ON DUALITY IN THE FUNCTIONAL APPROACH TO GEOMETRIC CONTROL THEORY

Research output: Contribution to journalConference articlepeer-review

Abstract

The talk will deal with some difficulties in the functional, or module theoretic, approach to the study of geometric control. We will show how the module theoretic characterizations of the subspaccs V*(S) and V»(E) corresponding to the shift realization based on a left matrix fraction, arc related. We will characterize V„(E), the smallest input containing observability subspacc, and apply the characterizations to the problem of finding the limitations on spectral assignability for observers of partial states.
