Abstract

The existence of an integrated system of urban and economic activities should be taken into account in the further development of the Negev. A version of the central place strategy for urban development seems less satisfactory in such a desert environment than a functionally inter-related system with a major centre. Regional planners should be free from pre-conceived strategies developed in non-arid environments. -B.W.Beeley
