Retrieving the polarizability tensor of wire media

    Abstract

    We retrieve the polarizability tensor of infinitely long cylinders under oblique incidence. Despite no inversion symmetry, magneto-electric coupling is predicted, its precise physical origins traced to the difference in scattering of TE and TM polarizations.
