Abstract
Rotationally inelastic scattering has been measured for a supersonic beam of HF off a clean LiF(001) surface, as a function of surface temperature and incident and final scattering angles. Rotational accomodation was found to be incomplete. Angular distributions were broad (substantially broader than cos θf) and independent of the rotational inelasticity.
