Abstract

To solve the simulation of satellite routing algorithm based on mobile agent, a novel routing algorithm simulation platform for single-layered satellite network based on ns2 is proposed. Several key designs, including constellation, handoff manager, routing model, inter-satellite links, user data links and mobile agent, are described in detail. A satellite network routing algorithm called SNRA-MA has been simulated in Iridium-like model by means of the platform. The results show that the platform is completely practical. Moreover, SNRA-MA (satellite network dynamic routing algorithm based on mobile agent) has low packet loss ratio, and its end-to-end delay performance satisfies the requirement of ITU-T (international telecommunication union telecommunication standardization sector).
