Abstract
The attempts to evaluate inhibited states by different electrochemical parameters have shown that the carbon dioxide corrosion rate of carbon steels having salt precipitates on their surfaces can substantially change inhibition under constant environment conditions (temperature, CO2 pressure, pH, medium flow rate). In this case some electrochemical parameters determined typical of inhibited steels are in error. The polarization resistance and corrosion potentials reproducible even with the precipitate formation in an inhibited medium are offered to use of specifying an inhibited state.
