Abstract

A millimeter-wave source, consisting of two heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBT), is described. The self oscillating HBT was used to improve the spectral characteristics. The two-transistor configuration was used for providing the isolation between the local oscillator and data signals. The results showed better digital modulation performances and less power fluctuations.
