Abstract
Let G be a finite group of automorphisms acting on a ring R, and R G={fixed points of G}. We show that under certain conditions on R and G, when R Gis semiprime Goldie then so is R. In particular, if a∈R is invertible and a n∈Z(R), then R G,with G generated by the inner automorphism determined by a, is the centralizer of a-C R(a). The above result with R Greplaced by C R(a) is shown without the assumption that a is invertible.
