Abstract
Major complications due to sclerotherapy of esophageal varices occur at an unneglected number. A case of intramural esophageal hematoma detected by computed tomography is reported. The patient was treated conservatively and followed for several months after discharge from the hospital. A summarized review of the literature is presented.
