Abstract

The study of fluid inclusions assists in interpreting the history of polymetamorphic and polymigmatitic complexes; this has been demonstrated for the region of Tupaya Guba (Baltic shield), where the rocks have undergone repeated folding, metamorphism, ultrametamorphism, and granitization under granulite-facies and then amphibolite-facies conditions, which are assigned correspondingly to tectonometamorphic cycles I and II. The absence of low-density inclusions in the cycle I rocks and their presence in the cycle II rocks testifies to different types of regressive trends. Gas chromatography of 79 specimens also demonstrates certain differences in the fluid compositions for the leucosomes in cycles I and II. -from Journal summary
