Abstract

A facile thermally activated aromatic nucleophilic substitution reaction is shown to take place in the solid state in cocrystals of 4-chloro-3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid and 4-aminobenzoic acid. The cocrystals are also made in the solid state by grinding the two acids together at room temperature.
