Abstract
Solubilities of L-aspartic, DL-aspartic, DL-glutaric, p-hydroxybenzoic, o-anisic, p-anisic, and itaconic acids in water were determined in the temperature range 278 to 345 K. From these solubilities the apparent molar enthalpies of solution at T = 298.15 K were derived, and these are: ΔsolHm-(L-C4H7O4N, m = 0.0379 mol · kg-1) = 26.7 kJ · mol-1; ΔsolHm(DL-C4H7O4N, m = 0.0590 mol · kg-1) = 30.8 kJ · mol-1; ΔsolHm(DL-C5H9O4N, m = 0.0965 mol · kg-1) = 27.3 kJ · mol-1; ΔsolHm(p-C7H6O3, m = 0.0488 mol · kg-1) = 41.9 kJ · mol-1; ΔsolHm(o-C8H8O3, m = 0.0197 mol · kg-1) = 28.5 kJ · mol-1; ΔsolHm-(p-C8H8O3, m = 0.00169 mol · kg-1) = 28.1 kJ · mol-1; and ΔsolHm(C5H6O4, m = 0.7605 mol · kg-1) = 33.7 kJ · mol-1.
